About the project

I found my way back to my body much later, and I returned to it as one returns to a bombed-out house. I rebuilt it gradually, paying attention to it, listening to its needs. It was a body full of deprivation, trenches, and missteps. A place I had abandoned, left to its own devices, because if ballet achieved anything, it was to strip away my sense that this body belonged to me. I understand that my pain gave me the opportunity to discover who I was.
