Andrea González Maroto
Cultural theorist, interdisciplinary producer, and educator whose work connects visual culture, participatory media, and expanded documentary. Her research combines critical pedagogy, political imagination, and architectural and photographic methodologies to explore the image as a space of memory and collective transformation.
She is an architect from the Universidad del Diseño (Costa Rica) and has pursued postgraduate studies in Critical and Visual Studies at Pratt Institute (New York), International Relations at The New School, and New Documentary Photography at LCI Barcelona. She has worked with Human Rights Watch, Index of the Disappeared, and Projeto Morrinho (Rio de Janeiro).
In her teaching, she develops courses that integrate theory, practice, and collective research. She is co-founder of the collective Needle + Frame, with which she creates narrative methodologies and collaborative pedagogical tools.
