April 23, Sant Jordi’s Day, is one of the most magical moments of the year, and we want to celebrate it with all of you. Don’t miss the program of activities we have prepared (all of them are held in Spanish):

LITERARY AND DESIGN MARKET

🕑 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

You’ll be able to purchase books from various publishers, including our own Felicidad Duce Publishing House, as well as artistic creations made by students. We’ll have snacks and live music by two student DJs.

WORKSHOPS, ACTIVITIES, AND BOOK PRESENTATIONS

Talk: "De libros e ilustraciones" ("On books and illustrations")

🕑 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
📌 Library (4th floor).

Marta Gustems and María Gil Irurita, two artists of words and illustration, will talk to us about the book as an object, writing as play, illustration as addition, and art as an excuse.

 

Book presentation: "Almodóvar. Una retrospectiva" ("Almodóvar. A retrospective") - Ed. Blume

🕑 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

Author Pau Gómez will present this illustrated retrospective of Almodóvar’s filmography, with a foreword by Antonio Banderas and final reflection by Cecilia Roth.

 

Book presentation: "Miedo y ropa en América" ("Fear and clothing in America") - Ed. Superflua

🕑 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm.
📌 Library (4th floor).

Professor Martin Torres, editor of Superflua, will present this ironic and insightful take on American society by Cintra Wilson, and professor Mar Sureda will offer a critical reflection on the work and its impact.

 

Presentation: "Otra moda es posible" ("Another fashion is possible")

🕑 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm.
📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

Professor Paola Cirelli will present her book "Maldita Moda", a practical guide for creating a sustainable fashion brand that integrates branding, design, and marketing, while placing people at the heart of every strategy.

 

Workshop: "Postales desde lugares imaginarios" ("Postcards from imaginary places")

🕑 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

In this activity led by professors Joan Guardiet and Natàlia Galbán, we will create fictional postcards inspired by literary worlds like Oz, Narnia, or Hogwarts, combining vintage aesthetics, lettering, and illustration.

 

Workshop: "Rosas y colores" ("Roses and colors")

🕑 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
📌 Agora (floor -1).

In this workshop led by professor Alan Ramírez, we’ll reinterpret the Sant Jordi rose by exploring color, texture, and imagination through painting, collage, and digital techniques.

 

Book presentation: "La pintura alquídica en el arte contemporáneo" ("Alkyd painting in contemporary art") - Ed. Pano Art Books

🕑 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm.
📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

Professor Mariano Espinosa will present his book and the catalogs from his exhibitions at the Museum of Art of La Rioja, with a brief introduction to his work and a visit to a selection of his pieces on display on the second floor.

 

Book presentation: "Cara Vista" - Ed. Círculo Rojo

🕑 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

Ana García López, author of the book and director of our Master in Wellbeing, Neuroarchitecture, and Bioconstruction, and María Lledó Cisneros, alumni and master's coordinator, will talk about how the spaces we inhabit influence our senses and wellbeing.

EXHIBITIONS

Felicidad Duce

📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

A diachronic exhibition featuring pattern making works and narratives about Felicidad Duce, founder of our Fashion School, with texts both written by her and in collaboration with other editors.

 

Exlibris

📌 Exhibition space (ground floor).

Exhibition of exlibris created by 1st-year students of the Bachelor in Graphic Design. Exlibris, which emerged with the invention of the printing press, are stamps placed inside books to identify their owner.

 

Mariano Espinosa

📌 2nd floor.

Exhibition featuring some of our professor’s most personal and experimental paintings.
