Coinciding with the celebration of its 75th anniversary, SEAT announced the winners of the Imagineers design contest during an event held last Wednesday at CASA SEAT. Organised in collaboration with our School, the competition invited young creatives to design a special edition of the iconic SEAT Ibiza, inspired by the brand’s values and spirit.

"With SEAT Imagineers, we set ourselves a clear objective: to connect young design talent with SEAT, offering them the opportunity to continue their education —in collaboration with LCI Barcelona, School of Design and Visual Arts— and to gain hands-on professional experience", said Arantxa Alonso, Chief Brand Officer at SEAT. Alessandro Manetti, Vice President Europe of LCI Education, added: "LCI and SEAT share a common vision: to promote applied creativity as a driver of innovation, education, and global connection. Together, we champion young talent as a transformative force for the creative and tech industries. SEAT Imagineers not only celebrates the past, it also builds bridges to the future for the next generation of designers".

The winning design, created by Jamie Binstead (United Kingdom), was inspired by the outline of the map of Barcelona and was selected for its originality and innovative approach. Lucas Predseil (France) came in second place with a proposal based on the city’s iconic panot tile design, while third place went to Irati Sáez de Vicuña (Spain) for her vinyl wrap inspired by the cities that give their names to SEAT models.

The jury, made up of Jorge Diez, SEAT’s Head of Design; Francesca Sangalli, Head of Color & Trim and Concept & Strategy at SEAT; Jofre Sanfeliu, Creative Director of Artofmany and Director of our Master’s in Art Direction and Graphic Project Management; and María Escoté, fashion designer and LCI Barcelona alumni, selected the three finalists for their ability to connect the brand’s heritage and future through values and design.

As the winner of the competition, Jamie will receive a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree at our School during the upcoming academic year. He will also have the opportunity to complete a six-month paid internship in SEAT’s Design Department and drive a SEAT León e-Hybrid during his stay in Barcelona. In addition, he will see his design brought to life on a real SEAT Ibiza, which will be on display at CASA SEAT until May 30. Lucas, in turn, will be awarded a scholarship worth 30 credits in master’s-level courses at LCI Barcelona. He will be able to design his own advanced learning path and complete it with an internship at the School or with one of our partner companies. Finally, Irati will receive a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree at LCI, with a latest start date of November 2028.

Congratulations to all three winners, and to SEAT —our partner in this inspiring Imagineers initiative— on the celebration of its 75th anniversary!
