Erasmus+ BIP of Photography students in Lanzarote

Our School is taking part in this international initiative together with three European universities.
A group of students from the Photography area traveled to Lanzarote at the beginning of the year to take part in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) held within the framework of the Erasmus+ program together with three prestigious European universities: the Hochschule Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI) in Germany, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in Hungary, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in Belgium.

During an intensive week of workshops and collaborative activities in the town of Famara, participants explored the physical and metaphysical elements of the sea as a source of artistic inspiration, reflecting on its influence on the identities of coastal communities around the world. Our students were accompanied by Salvatore Elefante, Head of the Photography area, and Bianca da Silva, from the international Student Services area.

Under the name Mare Tuum, at the end of May the website was launched featuring the projects developed during the BIP, as well as a printed publication with an editorial concept by Salvatore himself. Both reflect the dedication and creative vision of the students.

This experience represents a unique opportunity to foster cultural exchange and reflection on the relationship between art and the marine environment. In this type of project, not only is internationalization strengthened, but innovative educational methods are also applied, such as challenge-based learning.
