On October 13, we held a Welcome Day to greet the more than 140 new master’s and postgraduate students who will be joining us for the 2025-2026 academic year. The session was designed to share LCI’s philosophy, introduce the academic team, and showcase all the resources available on campus.
The Welcome Day began with words from our General Director, Sílvia Viudas, who encouraged attendees to approach this new stage with curiosity and a critical spirit, reminding them that this is a place to explore who they want to become as professionals in the creative industries. In the same vein, Academic Director Miljana Micovic emphasized that studying a master’s or postgraduate program at LCI Barcelona means taking on the challenge of understanding design and the visual arts through a global and conscious perspective, one that generates real impact and connects creativity with innovation and social responsibility.

The session also featured Pepa Casado, a trend researcher specialized in the habitat sector and co-founder of Futurea and SUR. She collaborates with brands such as Four Seasons, Cosentino, Roca, Leroy Merlin, and Siemens, helping them integrate trend research into their design and business strategies. As coordinator of the projects The New Habitat and Spain Design Index (winner of the ADI Cultura Silver Award), Casado invited students to reflect on the ethical dimension of design and the responsibility inherent in every creative decision.

After the institutional welcome and the opening talk, participants toured the campus facilities to get acquainted with its spaces. They then enjoyed a coffee break at the Agora, a relaxed moment to share impressions and meet fellow students. The Welcome Day continued with presentations from the Academic Management and Student Services teams, who provided practical information about the programs, campus resources, and the different support services available. The day concluded with a personalized session in which students met the directors of their respective master’s and postgraduate programs, an initial opportunity to learn more about the methodology, objectives, and structure of each course.

With more than 75% international students, our master’s and postgraduate programs reflect the diversity and global outlook that define our community. Welcome to LCI Barcelona and happy 2025-2026 academic year to all!
