The Catalan Audiovisual Cluster, of which we are members, is organizing the 11th edition of the Audiovisual Talent Week from 24 to 28 November. This event, held in collaboration with the Disseny Hub Barcelona, connects emerging talent with the business and professional fabric of the audiovisual industry through workshops, conferences, networking sessions, and other initiatives.
The main activity of the Talent Week is the Audiovisual Pitch. Over two days, final degree and master’s projects from Catalan and national universities are presented before a panel of industry professionals in the categories of fiction, non-fiction and entertainment, video games, and new technologies and immersive experiences. Once again, we will take part in the event through the latest class of our Bachelor’s in Video Game Design, who will present their project BugZonia, led by two of its creators, alumni Iván Berlanga and Javier Valencia.
The project, supervised by professor David Gómez, is a turn-based strategy video game in which two factions face off: ants, representing resource exploitation, and termites, acting as defenders of the ecosystem. Each player controls three units with unique abilities on a hexagonal board, where the goal is to conquer as much territory as possible. The game is designed for 15-minute matches and is recommended for players aged ten and above. You can find all the details on its official website.
The presentation of BugZonia will take place on Wednesday, 26 November, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. in the Disseny Hub Barcelona auditorium, and it is open to the public (you can register via this link). Good luck, alumni!
