The #MadeInLCI talent continues to receive recognition! Berta Forcada Llos, an alumni of our Bachelor’s in Interior Design, has won the first prize in the 27th edition of the CODIC Awards, whose ceremony took place last month at Casa de la Llum by Simon. These awards, organized by the Official College of Interior Designers and Decorators of Catalonia, recognize each year the best final degree projects and are a key event for the design sector in our country.

Within the Bachelor’s category, the jury granted the highest distinction to Berta’s project, Maggie’s. La Vinyola: Holistic Center for the Comprehensive Treatment of Cancer Patients, for several distinctive qualities: “the hand drawing, a presentation of plans that goes beyond, and the ability to create spaces that are truly pleasant and appropriate to their function”. It was also noted for “its sustainable approach, the extensive research carried out, and a development that would allow the project to be implemented, showing a remarkable level of detail”.

Combining neuroarchitecture and biophilic design, Berta proposes the interior design of a holistic center intended to support cancer patients. Her project, supervised by faculty members Eugenia López Reus and Enzo Vignolo, transforms a traditional farmhouse in La Cerdanya into a humanized environment that reduces stress and promotes emotional wellbeing. Maggie’s. La Vinyola is structured around an aromatic garden courtyard and includes therapy rooms, a community kitchen, a lounge-library, and bedrooms conceived from sensory care. The entire proposal integrates natural light, organic materials, and a constant connection with nature.
