LCI Barcelona joins the New European Bauhaus

Participation in this European initiative strengthens our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration.

We are pleased to announce that our School has been selected to become part of the New European Bauhaus (NEB), an initiative promoted by the European Commission that brings together sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetic quality to rethink living spaces in Europe and beyond.

LCI Barcelona’s application was led by the Interior Design area, headed by Pedro Coelho, with the collaboration of Alba Giménez, our Research Coordinator. Official confirmation of acceptance was received in mid-month, and we are now listed on the NEB website as a friend entity of its community.

Joining the New European Bauhaus opens up new opportunities for LCI Barcelona, such as establishing connections with other educational institutions, European institutions, and stakeholders, participating in events, competitions, and initiatives linked to sustainability and inclusion, as well as the possibility of collaborating on research projects aligned with the initiative’s values.

This affiliation reinforces our commitment to responsible, innovative design connected to today’s major social, cultural, and environmental challenges.

About the New European Bauhaus

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a creative and transdisciplinary initiative promoted by the European Union that connects sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetic quality to imagine and build a more liveable future. Announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in 2020, the NEB acts as a bridge between science and technology, art and culture, promoting solutions that respond to contemporary ecological and social challenges.

The initiative is structured around three inseparable values (sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion) and fosters collaboration between citizens, experts, institutions, and businesses. In addition to serving as a platform for connection and experimentation, the New European Bauhaus supports projects that improve quality of life in communities and facilitate access to European funding for sustainable, inclusive, and high-impact proposals.
