Llum BCN, Barcelona’s festival of light arts, held its 15th edition from February 6 to 8 under the theme “Night Landscapes”. The event brought together 300,000 visitors, according to data from the City Council, consolidating itself as one of the city’s major cultural events.
In this context, a group of students from the Interior Design area presented the installation Tábula, conceived as a space for emotional pause in a world saturated with stimuli. Located in the Gardens of L'Auditori, the proposal invited visitors to stop, inhabit silence and reconnect, both with oneself and with others.

This project takes the table, a universal symbol of encounter, as the central axis of a journey that proposes three spatial relationships (below, at level, and above) associated with states of introspection, balance, and transcendence. Through a subtle dialogue between light and silence, Tábula transforms contemporary solitude into an opportunity for connection, proposing a collective experience that is both deep and intimate.
Beyond the formal aspects, the installation invites participants to share dreams from a place of conscious presence, reinforcing the human need to pause, listen to ourselves, and reconnect with the community. A reflection that is especially relevant in today’s urban context, where hyperactivity and overstimulation are part of everyday life.

Tábula was part of a broad program that, this year, celebrated Barcelona’s role as 2026 World Capital of Architecture, highlighting emerging talent and the role of schools of design, art, and architecture as active agents in the construction of critical and transformative perspectives on the city.
