Decorado, the latest movie by director Alberto Vázquez, was awarded last Saturday with the Goya for Best Animated Feature Film at the 40th edition of the awards granted by the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences. Our professor Sergi Miranda, a faculty member in the Animation area, worked on the movie as an animator.
This adult animated film combines dark humor, existentialism, and a powerful visual identity. The story follows Arnold, a middle-aged mouse trapped in a deep existential crisis: his marriage is falling apart, his daily life feels absurd, and he begins to suspect that everything around him is a complete sham. The death of his best friend under strange circumstances triggers a spiral of paranoia that pushes him into a desperate escape searching for something that resembles, even minimally, freedom.
In addition to the Goya for Best Animated Feature Film, Decorado has accumulated other recognitions and nominations at leading industry festivals and awards, such as the Sitges Film Festival, the Quirino Awards, the Forqué Awards, and the Feroz Awards.

Below we share a video reel showcasing Sergi’s work on Decorado and other outstanding projects such as Neva and Unicorn Wars:
From LCI Barcelona, we would like to congratulate our professor on this important recognition, as well as the entire Decorado team for the Goya for Best Animated Feature Film.
