Design with LCI’s signature at Òh!pera 2025

Our team of faculty and students has created the set, costumes, and audiovisuals for “Estètica i massacre”, one of the three micro-operas premiering in this edition of the initiative.

Once again, we are part of

Òh!pera

, the innovative project of contemporary micro-operas promoted by the

Gran Teatre del Liceu

and

Disseny Hub Barcelona

as part of the

Festival Grec

. This initiative offers young talents in design, performing arts, and music the chance to work for months on a real opera creation process, sharing the stage with industry professionals in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

In this fourth edition, our School has taken on the set, costume, and audiovisual design of the piece “Estètica i massacre”, directed by Oriol Pla, with music and musical direction by Carles Prat, and a libretto by Carlota Gurt. The LCI Barcelona team has been made up of faculty and students:

  • Coordinators: Anna Pallerols, head of the Graphic Design area, and Mar Sureda.
  • Set design tutor: Josep Iglesias.
  • Students: Jaume Álvarez and Iris Garcia (Graphic Design), Alba Semper (Fashion Design), Marion Desjours (Photography), and Eduardo Marcelo Lazo (Interior Design). Collaborating students: Cèlia Giné and Adriana Sobal (Fashion Design).
  • Faculty: Andrea Otín, Ana García, and Sergi Carbonell.
  • Color consultancy: Gema Gilgado

Òh!pera has established itself as a platform for creative experimentation and live learning that connects education with professional practice and reinforces the importance of design in today’s operatic landscape. For our community, this project represents a unique opportunity to take part in a transformative experience inside one of the city’s great cultural temples.
