Color is language. It translates consumer psychology, sociocultural shifts, and lifestyle expectations into strategic expression and intelligence that guides design and connects emotionally with people. With this premise as a starting point, our School hosted the 2026 European ChromaZone Workshop organized by Color Marketing Group from March 25 to 27.

CMG is the leading international association of color and design professionals. With over 60 years of history, it brings together a global network of experts dedicated to generating rigorous, cross-sector color trend forecasts. Its collaborative working methodology, ChromaZone, periodically gathers professionals from different fields to analyze current macro-trends and project strategic color, materials, and finishes directions with a future horizon.
This year's European edition focused on trends for 2028 and beyond, bringing together around twenty participants connected to the world of color from a wide range of disciplines. The event was led by Gema Gilgado, color and trends specialist and Academic Exhibitions coordinator, alongside the international organization's leadership.

Among the participants were our alumni Claudia Gracia (a graduate in Interior Design) and Andrea Pascual (a graduate in Fashion Design), as well as student Daniela Cañero (currently enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication: Photography and Media Arts). All three had the opportunity to take part in a high-level professional trend-building process, gaining first-hand insight into how strategic color decisions are shaped. Decisions that go on to influence the design industry on a global scale.
For LCI Barcelona, hosting this kind of event places us at the intersection of prospective research, professional practice, and education. Spaces where our faculty, alumni, and students have the opportunity to connect with international experts from the creative industries.
