Lisa Ulrich, Graphic Design student, wins the Gold Cube at the ADC Young Ones

Our bachelor’s student takes top honors in the Interactive category with "Quarx," her visual archive project for graphic designers.

On a mobile screen, several app icons are visible, including "Quarx", an app designed by Lisa Ulrich, a Graphic Design bachelor's student at LCI Barcelona.

Quarx starts with a simple question: where does a graphic designer actually keep their references? The answer from student Lisa Ulrich is this visual archive app with filtering options by color, typeface, and other parameters. A tool built from practice, not theory. Developed as part of our Bachelor’s in Graphic Design under the guidance of professor Arturo González, Quarx has just received the Gold Cube in the Interactive category at the ADC Young Ones Awards, now in their 105th edition.

The Young Ones are the student competition of the ADC Annual Awards, organized by The One Club for Creativity, the world's longest-running design and visual communication competition. Receiving a Gold Cube in this context is a top-tier international distinction.

A project on a roll

This isn't the first time Quarx has caught the industry's attention. Lisa's project received an In Book selection at the ADG-Laus Awards 2025, Spain's leading graphic design honors, and earlier this year our student was named one of Europe's most promising young creatives at the ADCE High Potentials 2026. Congratulations on this latest achievement!

The image displays a collage of smartphone screens showcasing various app interfaces. The central screen features a turquoise background with the word "Quarx" prominently displayed. Other screens exhibit designs related to branding, packaging, and product presentation, suggesting a focus on design and marketing applications.
