More than 150 new master’s and postgraduate students begin the 2026-2027 academic year

The students, most of them international, have already started classes after their first introduction to the school during Welcome Week.

Last Tuesday, October 13, the Welcome Week for master’s and postgraduate programs kicked off, marking the start of the 2026-2027 academic year for more than 150 new students, 84% of them international.

Our general director, Sílvia Viudas, officially welcomed them to the School and congratulated them on choosing the European hub of LCI Education to study. “Here you will be able to be curious and make mistakes, because all of this is part of the creative process,” she told them, and added a reflection on artificial intelligence: “We must learn to use AI as a tool, and not as a substitute for thinking.”

This idea connected with the talk “Redefining human creativity: creativity, identity, and career opportunities in the AI Age,” which Marc Segarra gave next. Designer, founder of Galaxia Studio, and AI consultant for innovation with more than 20 years of experience, Marc champions human intelligence in a world of artificial intelligence.

After the talk, our new students took a guided tour of the campus with the Student Services team and, later, met the directors of their respective programs for the first time. Welcome Week continued over the following days with information sessions on academic operations, regulations, and available services.

Welcome to this new academic year at LCI Barcelona!
