On Tuesday, October 15th at 6:00 PM, we will kick off a new season of our DI55ECCIONS conference series (and it's already the eighth one!) with Paola Cirelli, a specialist in branding and sustainability and author of the book "Maldita Moda: Cómo crear una marca de moda sostenible y revolucionar el mundo" ("Maldita Moda: How to create a sustainable fashion brand and revolutionize the world").

The fashion industry is at a turning point, undergoing a transformation where the role of design and the conscious use of clothing is increasingly necessary. Faced with hyper-accelerated consumption that has turned fashion into one of the most predatory industries on the planet, it's worth asking what role designers and entrepreneurs play, and how they can be part of the solution rather than the problem.
Paola is a nonconformist voice, a designer who, from within the system, has mastered the art of seeing it with different eyes—eyes capable of imagining a better future. Her Sewing method will open your mind to a world of possibilities and references that work towards a fashion industry that goes against the grain, is sustainable, and has a clear vision for the future.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Paola Cirelli
She is a fashion designer, specialist in branding and sustainability, writer, and communicator. She wrote the book "Maldita Moda: Cómo crear una marca de moda sostenible y revolucionar el mundo", in which she explains the Sewing method, a perspective for changing the fashion system through sustainability.
For 17 years, she has run the Fashion Design Thinking studio, helping to create sustainable fashion brands and advising companies and entrepreneurs through mentoring. A university professor since 2008, she currently teaches at LCI Barcelona and Elisava.
In 2019, she launched the podcast Maldita Moda Club, with over 26,000 listeners in more than 50 countries, focused on sustainability. Additionally, she leads the international Maldita Moda club, which organizes monthly online meetings to discuss current topics in sustainability and fashion, and she is the co-author of "Buenos Aires es tendencia: Diseño de indumentaria en la era digital" ("Buenos Aires is trendy: Fashion design in the digital era), published by Random House Mondadori.

DI55ECCIONS are the talks at LCI Barcelona focused on the world of design, visual arts, innovation, and creativity. Our amazing new campus in the 22@ district has the honor of hosting the 8th season of a series that reinvents itself every year, always striving to give a voice to the most emerging and disruptive talents. And we keep playing with the number five: in each edition, five guests present five future trends they advocate for (related to their projects, their industry, society in general, etc.) and five key references or aspects of their work.
