"Sweet Side" will compete in New Authorship section at 55th Sitges Film Festival
Lift-Off, FAP and, now, the Sitges Film Festival! The short film "Sweet Side", made by the latest graduating class of 2D and 3D Animation, will be screened this weekend at the 55th edition of the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.
It will be on Saturday at 14:30h at the Casino Prado cinema within its section New Visions - New Authorship, which gathers the best short films by students from Catalan schools. The selection is made in collaboration with the SGAE Foundation.
How has been for our alumni the waiting time until the big day? "Last year I was lucky to attend the screening of "El Duelo", I could see what the festival was like and it motivated me to be there —admits Albert García, director of "Sweet Side"—, and now we are just a few hours away from presenting our short film". For Agustina Brizuela, the film's producer, it will be her first time attending the Sitges Film Festival: "I'm looking forward to it, I'll be happy to see in real time how our project manages to reach the audience".
"Sweet Side", which deals with a very complex subject such as suicide with great sensitivity, will compete with 12 other short films to be the best in the New Author category. "Whether we win or not, for me it will be a day of celebration in which we will meet again with classmates we haven't seen for a long time", explains Albert.
Our graduates keep on giving us good news
Congratulations for this new recognition to the whole "Sweet Side" team: Albert García, Agustina Brizuela, Joan Alarcón, Luca Cipriani, Violeta Cliffe, Marc Roca, Alba Vila, Eloi Torras, Paula Martínez and Laura Luque. Best of luck for this Saturday!
