LCI Barcelona participates in Sónar 2024 with Groovify
From June 13th to 15th, our School will be part of Sónar 2024, the most innovative electronic music and digital culture festival in the world. Specifically, we will participate in Sónar+D, an "anti-disciplinary" event open to all attendees that explores how technology and creativity are shaping the present and imagining new futures.
Festivalgoers will have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy Groovify, a #MadeInLCI app that uses artificial intelligence to analyse a person's photograph (facial expression, clothing, posture, etc.) and provide a personalised music recommendation. The application also generates five specific prompts from the data obtained to create a unique musical single and its cover.
Our installation will be located in the Project Area, the beating heart of Sónar+D, and will be divided into two zones: the first will allow capturing images of the users, and the second will be the contact space with the Groovify app. Visitors will hear the AI analysis of their image and 30 seconds of the single, as well as see the generated cover. Finally, they can download the Spotify playlist along with the content of their interaction with the application as a keepsake.
At LCI Barcelona, we are thrilled to be part of Sónar for the first time and offer festivalgoers an incredible immersive and interactive experience to enhance their enjoyment of the event and make the 2024 edition unforgettable.
Groovify is led by LCI Education's Head of Europe Alessandro Manetti and coordinated by Mariele Violano and the Area Managers Pedro Coelho, Estel Vilaseca, Anna Pallerols, David Carretero, and Salvatore Elefante. Along with them, a great team of faculty members, professionals, and learners from all our disciplines has worked together to accomplish an extraordinary success. Congratulations to all involved!
