LCI Barcelona, Associated Venue of Barcelona Design Week 2024
We are delighted to be one of the Associated Venues of the 19th edition of the Barcelona Design Week, taking place from October 16 to 26, with Alessandro Manetti, European Vice President of LCI Education, as the curator. During these days, we will open the doors of our recently inaugurated campus to host a series of events focused on the future of design through creative, technological, and sustainable perspectives.
Here is the full schedule of activities that will take place at the facilities of LCI Barcelona:
Installation: "Les Totes de Totes"
- When? From October 16 to 26.
- What is it about? This installation collects discarded, damaged, or surplus tote bags that our Fashion Design and Graphic Design students have transformed into unique and innovative creations. The Barcelona Design Week and Cervezas Alhambra lead this upcycling challenge promoting creativity, sustainability, and environmental awareness.

Exclusive Exhibition of Luigi Colani: "Vision of Human Future"
- When? From October 18 to 26 (inauguration on October 18 at 7:30 p.m.).
- What is it about? Considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, Luigi Colani revolutionized sectors such as automotive, aviation, furniture, appliances, and even spacecraft with his futuristic and organic creations, inspired by nature. This exclusive exhibition brings together a selection of his most iconic designs.

Dialogue: "Prototype scenarios for a human future"
- When? October 21 at 5:30 p.m.
- What is it about? Pablo Lara-Navarra (PhD and professor at UOC) and Jordi Sánchez-Navarro (associate professor at UOC) will discuss the design of future human scenarios through the Defly Compass methodology. The event will be moderated by Alessandro Manetti.

Workshop: URBAN MENUS Educational
- When? October 23 at 10:00 a.m.
- What is it about? An interactive workshop held within the framework of the training program "URBAN MENUS Educational: Dialogue with a Resilient Future". Participants will explore the transformative potential of Augmented Reality (AR) in sustainable urban planning and decision-making.

Exhibition: Underground BDW
- When? October 24 and 25.
- What is it about? Located in our Parking Gallery, this collective exhibit features various innovative and experimental proposals aligned with preserving and building a more sustainable and human future. The first edition of Underground BDW brings together top national and international talents, creative studios, educational institutions, and companies. One of the pieces on display will be the immersive installation "Breathe with me" by Swiss designer Annabelle Schneider.

Exhibition of #MadeInLCI projects
- When? October 24 and 25.
- What is it about? The exhibit features various projects developed by the LCI community: Groovify, the immersive installation premiered at Sónar+D 2024; a display of "The Sea Inside the City", the light installation created for the latest edition of the Llum BCN festival; the agamograph presented at the Fuorisalone during the last Milan Design Week; a Newtonlab Space showcasing Fashion and Animation works projected in holograms; and a selection of the most innovative fashion looks created by the latest graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design.
