From February 7 to 9, Llum BCN returns—the festival of light arts in Barcelona and one of the city’s key cultural events. Once again, our School will be part of this festival, which welcomed over 240,000 visitors in its last edition. This year, we’ll be showcasing “Reality Distortion”, a light installation conceived and developed by final-year students from the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design.

Exploring truth through light and smoke

This project will transform the space in front of our campus into a stage for reflection on the impact of misinformation in contemporary society. Using smoke and lighting effects, the installation plays with the viewer's perception, symbolizing how false information can distort our view of reality.

Cool colors and red lights will take center stage, representing the tension between truth and manipulation. This setup aims to invite the audience to question the accuracy of the information they consume daily and to reflect on both individual and collective responsibility in building a more honest and just future.

Who created the project?

“Reality Distortion” is the result of collaborative work by 4th-year students from the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, guided by professor Edgar Domínguez (director of our new Master in Lighting Design Projects) and the Head of the Interior Design Department, Pedro Coelho. The team is composed of students Alessandro Pantoja, Andrea Álvarez, Bárbara Maya, Cecilia Barrios, Berta Forcada, Cèlia Pujol, Claudia Gracia, Estel García, Jazmín Camós, Kenza Melikyan, Laura Beltrán, Ludmila Ramírez, María José Vargas, Mauro García, Sara Bando, Samuel Díaz, Gabriela Morales, Yaqueline Barrios, Aina Zamrik, Alejandrina López, Ana Mariya Lozeva, Anna Casacuberta, Arnau Zernez, Danna Pascuales, Ester Blanxart, Ivan Paracuellos, Jordi Fitó, Julia Turró, Judith Schmidt, Laia Navarro, Meggy Linares, Alex Nadal, Ona Pérez, Pol González, and Xavier Reina. Congratulations to all!
