We are thrilled to share that María Lledó Cisneros, alumni of the BA in Interior Design and current coordinator of the Master’s in Wellbeing, Neuroarchitecture, and Bioconstruction, has been selected as one of the winners of the prestigious Next Gen Design Competition 2025.
Under the theme "Redesign Tomorrow, Today", this year’s edition received over 200 submissions from emerging talents across 29 European countries. The competition jury recognized "La Fourmilière", María’s final degree project supervised by professor Eugenia López Reus, as one of the most innovative and impactful proposals. Also awarded at the 24th edition of the CoDIC Awards, the project envisions a cohousing model for young people with functional diversity, based on inclusive, accessible, and sustainable design.

In the words of our alumni and faculty member: "My project is still making noise. It continues to speak about new ways of living that respect and support the diversity of people, their needs, dreams, and challenges, seeking to ensure cooperation and human wellbeing. Architectural space has the power to care for us and make our lives easier, happier, and healthier. I truly believe that".
"La Fourmilière" will be featured in the Next Gen Design Travelling Exhibition, which from May to November will tour five major fairs and festivals across Europe, including Barcelona Design Week. In addition, María will have the opportunity to participate in the Next Gen Design Residency Program, a unique experience that offers advanced training, networking, and collaborative work to tackle local challenges.
Congratulations, María, you are a source of pride and an inspiration to the entire LCI community!
