LCI Barcelona adds a new international recognition. The Baum Haus Berlin project, developed by students Stephani Rodriguez, Valentina Soler, and Jocelyn Morales, from the Official Master’s in Experiential Interior Design, has been recognized at the Accor Design Awards 2026 and is among the three winners of this year’s edition.
The competition, organised by the Accor hotel group, is an international interior design and architecture contest aimed exclusively at students. Each year it presents a challenge linked to one of the group’s brands (such as Pullman, Sofitel, or Novotel) with the aim of discovering and promoting young talent through innovative, sustainable, and functional solutions. In this edition, more than 200 projects from design schools around the world took part.
This year’s challenge focused on the Pullman brand and, specifically, on the Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof hotel. The proposal by our students presents a new spatial experience structured around three axes: adaptability through a flexible spatial configuration, immersive experience, and warm materiality inspired by nature. The project incorporates elements such as retractable curtain systems, reconfigurable seating, individual work pods, and an LED screen with forest projection, conceiving the space as an environment that can be transformed to host everything from private meetings to large-scale events.
It is worth noting that two other projects by LCI Barcelona students have been shortlisted in the competition, highlighting the strength of the work developed within our Interior Design area.
The award-winning team will travel to Basel on June 17 to take part in the official awards ceremony. Congratulations!
