About the Program

Specialize in the full development of a swimwear collection, from the initial concept to its execution. Work alongside the Guillermina Baeza team and a partner brand on a real project that incorporates sustainability, trend analysis, creative direction, and a strategic vision of contemporary design.

Opportunities

You will be able to take your summer course in a university environment and take advantage of our spectacular facilities in the 22@, a district full of innovation and creativity, with some of the coolest spots in the city.

Admissions Criteria

  • To have an identification document or passport.

  • Local and European students over 16 years old.

  • Non-European foreign students must be over 18 years old.

WEEK 1

  • Introduction to the current swimwear and retail landscape.
  • Structure of swimwear collections.
  • Collaboration and co-branding: the rise of partnerships. Objectives and new narratives.
  • The cultural relevance of swimwear: a historical journey through cinema and photography.
  • Activity: Special trend tour focused on swimwear.

WEEK 2

  • The design process of a swimwear collection at Guillermina Baeza’s headquarters.
  • Development of the briefing for a capsule collection design.
  • Conceptualization, design, and planning of the collection.
  • Prints in the swimwear fashion industry.
  • Activity: Visit to a company in the sector to learn about their production processes and fabric work.

WEEK 3

  • Swimwear pattern making.
  • Selection of the garment to pattern and produce.
  • Prototyping process of the selected swimwear piece.
  • Technical sheets.
  • Fitting session.
  • Activity: Visit to Guillermina Baeza’s workshop in Mataró.

WEEK 4

  • Finalization of the collection book.
  • Masterclass on styling at a partner showroom.
  • Photoshoot of the final piece.
  • Capsule project presentation to the client or brand.
