Our alumni Laura Roxley, a graduate of the Master's in Fashion Visual Creation, has won the Fashion Film Next Award presented by the Alicante International Film Festival as part of its Fashion Cinema section. She received the award for A Necessary Trip, a short film of nearly three minutes in which she explores fashion as a narrative and visual language. The film follows Aru, a young woman about to head out to a party who finds herself caught up in an unexpected situation.
The jury is made up of Victor Claramunt, an acclaimed filmmaker who recently made a fashion film in collaboration with LCI Barcelona; Nuria Vicedo, a lecturer in Audiovisual Media at the Alicante School of Art and Design (EASDA); Rafa Gallar, a fashion photographer; and María Jesús Ortiz, Associate Professor at the University of Alicante and Director of the Audiovisual Communication Research Group (ICOMAV).
The award ceremony will take place this Wednesday, May 27, at 6:00 pm at the MACA (Alicante Contemporary Art Museum), in an evening that will open with a screening of the award-winning fashion films, continue with the awards ceremony, and close with a panel discussion by the jury members.
Congratulations, Laura! This recognition is a source of pride for the entire LCI community.
